Charlie Powell

I've been noticing Charlie Powell's illustrations on Slate and really like his style.

Where there's smoke: Pentagram takes on cigarette packaging

N*E*R*D Website

N*E*R*D has come with a pretty neat website. It's all based off of a game you can play on the site, which is also pretty cool, even if Daft Punk already did something similar. I like how they carried the concept throughout the rest of the site and stylistically it looks great. Designed by Fishbucket. It also reminds of the Kanye West video in which he uses technological "problems" as an aesthetic choice.

"Fallen Princesses"

"These works place Fairy Tale characters in modern day scenarios. In all of the images the Princess is placed in an environment that articulates her conflict. The '...happily ever after' is replaced with a realistic outcome and addresses current issues." by Dina Goldstein Fallen Princesses

My other idea for this week's Illustration Friday.

Morning Meeting Sketch

I kept thinking of this song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, I'm not sure why.

Coffin Nails

I was watching a movie where the main characters reaches for a cigarette and refers to them as "coffin nails," not really an original idea but I wanted to draw it out anyway.

Morning Meeting Sketch

My favorite part about this drawing is the hand behind the back, like he's up to no good.

Dan Park

Great, great stuff by Dan Park. I really dig the line work and the facial expressions.
